It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Jule Phillippe Prairie, affectionately known as Jules, shares the news of his passing on Monday, August 31st, 2026 in Windsor, Ontario at the age of 83. Jules was born on December 19th, 1942 in Richer, Manitoba. He moved with his family to Port Arthur and grew up in Thunder Bay. He was loved for his quick humor, generous nature and most importantly, his kindness. Jules had a career at Great Lakes Paper, owned L& J Paving and Central Taxi before retiring from the Children’s Aid Society. For ten years, he and Georgina opened their home as foster parents.
Jules leaves behind his beloved wife Georgina Prairie, sons David Prairie (Maria) and Danny Prairie (Teena), grandchildren Ryan, Emma, Ashlyn and great-grandchildren Joshua and Noah. He was cherished by many and will be profoundly missed. A celebration of life will take place on October 4th from 1 PM to 4 PM at Black Pirates Pub located at 215 Red River Road.
