We are heartbroken to share that James Peter Carberry passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born in Scotland, Jim relocated to Canada with his family when he was just one year old. He took pride in being Canadian and officially became a citizen in September 2024.
No matter what you called him-James, Jim, Jimmy, Carbz, Dad, or Uncle Jim-he will be remembered for his loyalty and laughter. He was always there for those he loved.
Jim had a passion for rugby, hockey, and golf and built many close friendships through these interests. His happiest moments were spent on camping trips with friends by the water, fishing rod in hand.
He will be greatly missed by his son Dawson (Sara), daughter Megan (Darcy), brother John (Stephanie), nephew Jude and niece Fiona, as well as his Aunt Sylvia and cousin David (Judy). He was predeceased by his parents Roberta and James, sister Michele, and Uncle Adam.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 1-5pm on Saturday, November 29th at the Brampton Rugby Club (7605 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton). Family members will share their thoughts at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us to share fond memories and stories as we come together to remember him.
If you’d like to honor Jim’s memory, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bethell Hospice instead of sending flowers.
