Fraser Dunsford Murdoch passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. With his 4 daughters by his side, Fraser took a last gentle breath on Boxing Day in his own home-just as he wished to.

Born in Perth, Scotland, Fraser moved to Canada with his caring parents Winnie and Andrew, and his sister Muriel. Not long after, Blair was born and their family was complete. At a young age, Fraser started his own family with his wife, Connie. While he worked for the Ministry of Transportation for 30 years, Dad’s real passion was being a parent. He provided guidance, support, care, and love to both his children and grandchildren in such a deep way that this will always be how he’s remembered.

From pneumonia on the ship from Scotland to illness and a severe workplace injury, Dad spent much of his life battling to stay well and fend off infections. So, with the full respect and cooperation of his family, he decided he’d fought enough and chose to rest. For 12 days, his family surrounded him at home and supported him through his final moments.

Fraser is survived by his daughters Michelle (Paul), Jodi (Gilles), Tricia (Darren), and Jaime; along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sebastian (Takwana, Nahla, Nevanji and Arlo-Blue), Zachary (Megan), Rowan, Krista (Kaitlin), Evan (Nicole), Sydney, Jacob (Presley), and Joshua; as well as beloved siblings Muriel and Blair along with their families; plus son Keith whom Dad had the blessing of meeting later in life. His long-time best friend Brian also mourns alongside family members. Fraser was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Winnie as well as granddaughter Abby who’ll forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Fraser’s family wants to share their heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for him over the years. A special shoutout goes to Brett from VON for working hard to keep Dad healthy while offering warmth through smiles during these past 18 months. They also extend sincere appreciation to Janna from VON for her outstanding care during Dad’s final days.

While Dad loved fiercely and showed up for everyone around him without ever asking for anything back. Following his wishes there won’t be any formal service held in honor of him. We encourage anyone wanting to pay tribute to Fraser by enjoying good food together or hunting down bargains while showing love unconditionally towards your kids or grandkids-those were the things that truly made him happy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rowan Tree Collective which meant so much to Dad-it’s rooted in kindness named after one of his grandsons: www.rowantreecollective.ca

“I’m always just a thought away.” -Dad during those last days.
