1948-2026
Darlene was born on September 18, 1948, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and she peacefully left us on February 4, 2026, at Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste Marie Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Evelyn Jackson, along with her brothers Harold (Judy) and Harry (Cindy).
Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Niel Dainio; her daughters Cindy Rodriguez (Bruce), Lise Ann Long (Chris), and Jamie Dainio; as well as her sister Dianne Hemrich (Ray). She took great pride in being a Grandma to Kayleigh Roe, Isla Long, and Reed Eckford, who brought her so much happiness.
Mom taught her daughters that they could achieve anything if they truly set their minds to it-a lesson that will carry on through them. Her cooking skills, artistic talents, and above all else her kindness will be remembered fondly by many across the country. Family and friends were always welcome at her home for coffee paired with freshly baked cookies or a slice of cake. Darlene made an impact on everyone she met and formed friendships wherever she went.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her sisters-in-law Cindy Jackson and Judy Jackson for being just a phone call away and providing unwavering support throughout the years. They also extend special thanks to the caregivers at Mapleview for treating Mom with kindness and dignity, along with the medical staff at Sault Area Hospital during her last days.
