In Loving Memory of

Claude Louiseize

October 27, 1943 – January 29, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Claude Louiseize’s passing on the morning of January 29, 2026 at TBRHSC, with his devoted wife, Dana, by his side. Claude was born in Timmins, Ontario and spent his childhood in Sudbury. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Laurentian University before relocating to Thunder Bay to earn his teaching certification at Lakehead University.

Claude started his career as a French Immersion teacher with the Lakehead Board of Education. For more than 25 years, he inspired countless students with his expertise and language skills. A standout moment in his professional journey was the two years he taught in Baden-Baden, Germany-an experience that ignited his passion for travel and filled him with joyful memories that he often shared. He retired in 2003 and embraced the chance to explore the world.

Claude truly appreciated life’s pleasures. Whether he was capturing a beautiful landscape on camera, fishing peacefully on a serene lake, or skiing through fresh snow, he lived life to its fullest. He loved spending time in the kitchen or dining at fine restaurants, sharing delicious meals with those close to him.

His memory will always be treasured by his loving wife, Dana, who stood by him through every adventure. He also leaves behind a large family of nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws who will miss his lively spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Florina Louiseize; his brothers Gaƫtan and Jean-Pierre; and sister Mimi.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of TBRHSC Unit 1A for their compassionate care.

A celebration of life will take place in Claude’s honor at the Westfort Chapel of Everest of Thunder Bay at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Friends and family wishing to honor Claude’s memory can make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
