Mr. Bryan Royden Knibbs, aged 79, of Thunder Bay, ON passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with his family by his side on June 5, 2026.

He was born on April 21, 1947 in Fort William, ON, and was the youngest of the three Knibbs brothers.

Bryan began his teaching career in 1970 with the Department of Indian Affairs in Lansdowne House and Aroland. He concluded his career with the Lakehead Board of Education, retiring in 2004. Throughout his time as an educator, he inspired many generations of students. His patience, kindness, and love for learning made a lasting impression on countless young minds.

He lived a life filled with love, integrity, and commitment to his family. Bryan was a devoted husband and a proud father who adored his seven grandchildren: Julia, Alex, Andrew, Lauren, Bryan, Ben, and Hunter.

Bryan leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Cheryl; daughter Jennifer and her spouse Ray; brother-in-law Don and Marina Mac Leod along with niece Madison; brothers Don and June; Wayne and Dianne; as well as other family members.

He was predeceased by his parents Royden and Mary Knibbs; in-laws Don and Anne Mac Leod; and son Aaron.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Nurse Practitioner Jenna Codere; the staff at 2B TBRHSC; Dr. Shaban; Dr. Migay; and Dr. Haggerty for their care.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

If you wish to honor him further, donations may be made to Mark Preece Family House instead of sending flowers.
