We are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of Brent Kivi at the age of 59 at his home in Thunder Bay on July 13, 2026.
Brent was the youngest of three siblings and maintained a playful spirit throughout his life. One of his greatest joys was being a father to his son, Conner, and witnessing him grow into the strong and independent person he is now.
For 24 wonderful years, Brent built a life full of love and laughter with his partner, Lorraine. They created countless memories together, from cheering for their favorite Thunderwolves during hockey games to enjoying simple moments side by side.
Another source of happiness for Brent was spending time outdoors with his loyal dog, Tigger. Whether it was taking long walks around the neighborhood or enjoying peaceful strolls in nature, those moments brought him joy. Tigger wasn’t just a pet-she was his constant companion and provided him with unconditional love.
Brent also treasured the time spent with his mother, Eva. Together they had an uncanny ability to stretch $20 for hours at the casino, and their daily phone calls were something they both looked forward to.
Brent will be greatly missed by his son Conner; mother Eva; sister Debbie (Jaime) Costa; nieces and nephews Kristin, Kyle (Michelle), Brandon (Jenn), and Terrilynn (Patrick); step-mother Nancy; partner Lorraine; along with a large extended family. He was predeceased by his father Ernie and brother Terry.
Brent had a way of bringing happiness to those around him, making even ordinary moments special. His spirit continues on through the family and friends who loved him deeply and in all the cherished memories that will provide comfort moving forward.
Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering for friends and family to celebrate Brent’s life will be held on Friday July 31, 2026 at the Da Vinci Sports Bar from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
