June 14, 1985 – October 17, 2025
With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of Billy Joe Anthony Prosser, who left us way too soon on October 17, 2025, in Huntsville, Ontario. Born on June 14, 1985, in Mississauga, Ontario, Billy spent all his 40 years filled with determination, laughter, and a heart that was always open.
Billy married his soulmate, Genise Reid, on August 6, 2011, in Port Sydney, Ontario. Together they created a life overflowing with love and joy as well as a beautiful family that meant everything to him.
He is survived by his loving mother Cathy Prosser and his wife Genise. His children Jacob, Jeffrey, Mikey, and Ben were truly the lights of his life. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Stacy, Tara, Catherine, and Sara along with their spouses; he leaves behind grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Billy dearly.
Billy was an amazing son – dedicated and caring. He had a unique bond with his mom based on respect as well as humor and love. No matter how busy things got in life, Billy always made it a point to check in regularly to show her how much she meant to him.
From an early age he displayed a strong work ethic – whether shoveling snow or mowing lawns or collecting bottles for cash. He found ways to earn some money (and often shared a laugh while doing so). This drive led him through owning his own Pizza Pizza franchise before becoming a skilled gas fitter and eventually starting his own business.
Billy loved being outdoors – summer days camping or riding on his four-wheeler or side-by-side were some of his favorites along with sharing laughs around the campfire. He enjoyed playing golf too but was more about enjoying time with friends than keeping score. And if you heard the roar of that white Mustang engine? You knew it was Billy zooming past with that playful grin on his face.
A service celebrating Billy’s life will take place at Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 1:00 p. m., followed by a luncheon downstairs.
You can visit on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p. m.
If you’d like to make a memorial donation in honor of Billy’s memory please think about supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Billy will be remembered for his kindness and honesty along with an unyielding drive. The love he gave to family and friends will stay alive through all of us – because knowing Billy meant you were loved by him.
