Anita passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 60, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a devoted wife to Dharmendra Singh for 40 wonderful years and a proud mother to David, Nicholas, and Jonathan. Anita was also a loving sister and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

<p Her presence will be greatly missed by her siblings, extended family, and all the friends whose lives she touched.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, she was the youngest of thirteen children born to Henrick and Khaneese Gonsalves. At just 15 years old, she moved to Canada where she worked hard to create a beautiful life filled with love and dedication for her family. It was in Canada that she met Dharmendra Singh; they married in 1989 and welcomed their first son when Anita was only 20.

Anita was known for her hard work, compassion, and resilience. Her strength inspired everyone around her. She had an infectious smile that could brighten any room. Her faith helped guide her through life’s challenges with courage and hope.

She loved music, dancing, traveling, relaxing at the beach, and playing volleyball. Cooking delicious meals for loved ones brought her joy. She enjoyed watching Bollywood movies and cheering for her favorite soccer teams. Every moment spent laughing or creating memories with family and friends meant the world to her.

Anita’s three boys were everything to her-the pride of her life and the center of all that she did. Her kindness, generosity, warmth, and spirited nature will leave a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

While we will miss her dearly, Anita’s love and beautiful smile will forever remain in our hearts.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts. ❤️

The family will receive visitors at Ward Funeral Home located at 4671 Hwy 7 in Woodbridge on Thursday from 2-9 p. m. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday August 7, 2026 at 11 a. m., followed by entombment at Beechwood Cemetery.
