Butter tart season is in full swing across Ontario, and if you haven’t joined the fun yet, there’s still a chance.

From the biggest butter tart festival in Canada to a delightful event in one of the province’s most charming towns, there are plenty of celebrations focused on these tasty treats throughout Ontario.

Here’s what you can look forward to.

For the Love of Buttertarts Festival Oakville

The For the Love of Buttertarts Festival will take place in Oakville on April 25.

This year’s event at the Alder Street Recreation Centre, located at 275 Alder St., promises to be “bigger, busier, and more delicious than ever,” according to the organizers.

“Whether you’re new to this or a long-time fan in Orangeville, this event is thoughtfully curated to deliver an unforgettable experience,” said the team.

The festivities will run from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m., featuring not only butter tarts but also local vendors, handmade goods, and live music to enjoy.

If you bring a food donation for the Orangeville Food Bank, you’ll get $1 off your admission fee.

The Great Canadian Butter Tart Fest

Just under an hour and a half from Toronto lies Paris, often called Ontario’s prettiest town.

This May long weekend marks The Great Canadian Butter Tart Fest as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary in this quaint community.

On May 16 and 17, this festival is celebrated as southern Ontario’s largest butter tart festival.

The event will run from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. each day at the Paris Fairgrounds located at 139 Silver St.

<p“From classic butter tarts to uniquely Canadian-inspired goodies, this special milestone celebration is an excellent way to welcome spring with family and friends while enjoying sweet nostalgia,” according to the team.

The entry fee for adults aged 10 and up is $6 and can be bought at the gate. Children aged three to nine will pay $2 while kids under two get in free of charge.

Caledon Butter Tart Festival

The Caledon Butter Tart Festival hosted by Gotta Luv Butter Tarts takes over Caledon East Community Complex on May 30.

This celebration will occur at 6215 Old Church Rd., running from 10 a. m. until 4 p. m.

“Stroll through a lively marketplace filled with mouth-watering butter tarts, artisan goods, and specialty foods while soaking up one of Caledon’s most awaited community events,” said organizers.

“Whether you’re a loyal tart lover or just looking for some fun outdoors, this festival is perfect for indulging your cravings and exploring all that it has to offer.”

Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival presented by Chapman’s

On June 13th, Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival presented by Chapman’s will take place in Midland.

Recognized as Canada’s largest butter tart festival , this celebration spans King Street from Yonge Street all the way down to Bayshore Drive and extends into David Onley Park alongside Harbourside Park.

If you’ve never been before , know that since its start , it has been recognized by Festivals and Events Ontario as one of their Top 100 Festivals since2019.

“Our festival brings people together in such an enjoyable way – great food , good times , and sharing love for this truly Canadian treat,” shared Karen Mealing , manager , cultureand tourism for Midland.

“With even more vendors joining us this year , there’s sureto be somethingfor everyone.”

The festivities kick offat9a. m. and wrap uparound5pm, andwill feature230vendorswithfoodtrucks, liveentertainment, andakid’szone. Plus, theentryisfree.
