A 30-year-old man from Brantford has been charged after Halton Regional Police revealed an alleged theft scheme linked to a local aerospace firm in Oakville.
The investigation kicked off in early June 2026 when the company reported missing specialized millwright and aerospace tools and equipment. Detectives identified an employee as the main suspect and claim that the stolen goods were later put up for sale on social media platforms.
On June 30, police executed a search warrant at a home in Brantford, leading to the arrest of Abhishek Kumar Patel, age 30. During their search, officers found around $250,000 worth of stolen millwright and aerospace items, over $150,000 in Canadian cash, plus several expensive designer watches and sunglasses thought to be obtained through crime.
Patel faces charges of Theft Over $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 with intent to sell. He is currently held in custody while awaiting a bail hearing in Milton.
The investigation is still active as police continue collaborating with the affected business to identify any more stolen property and see if additional charges are warranted.
