Candidates for Oakville’s Ward 4 Election

In the Town of Oakville, every ward is represented by both a town councillor and a regional councillor.

Residents must vote for both positions unless a candidate is acclaimed.

Occupation I’m currently the Ward 4 town councillor and have been in this role since 2018. Outside of my council duties, I work as a supply chain executive with three decades of experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications. I’m the chief operating officer at Mohawk Medbuy, which is a national non-profit organization that supports hospitals and healthcare providers to create value, efficiency, and cost savings when purchasing medical supplies and services.

Do you live in the ward? I’ve lived in Oakville for 25 years. My home is located in the Glen Abbey community right on the edge of Ward 4’s boundary; my residence was excluded when it was redrawn in 2018 after I began representing Ward 4 on council.

Previous political experience I’m currently serving as the Ward 4 town councillor. I was elected in both 2018 and 2022.

If re-elected, what will your priorities be?

Direct growth while preserving greenspace: I support channeling growth toward urban nodes and corridors while safeguarding our established neighborhoods and greenspaces like Glen Abbey Golf Course. I’ll continue defending our official plan against development appeals to protect stable neighborhoods, ensuring that growth pays for itself – developers should cover all costs associated with roads, facilities, water, and sewer systems for new developments instead of residents’ taxes doing so. I back infrastructure plans that align with development needs. Manage taxes: I’ll handle tax management responsibly to keep overall property tax increases aligned with inflation throughout my next term. Building and maintaining infrastructure: I’ll ensure that our roads, storm sewers, and facilities are well-maintained. Transportation plans need to balance roads with transit options and active transportation as we grow our population. Additionally, I’ll advocate for traffic calming measures to reduce speeding and improve road safety. Implementing new traffic signal technologies will also enhance flow on major roads. Focus on community safety: I’m committed to maintaining community safety by collaborating with Halton Regional Police Services, municipal staff, and local residents to safeguard our neighborhoods.

Occupation I studied mechanical engineering and earned my diploma in that field. However, during school I got all my flying licenses which led me into aviation instruction.

Do you live in the ward? My wife Lisa and I have enjoyed living in Ward 4 for eight years now; we love the area’s greenspaces and trails.

Previous political experience While I don’t have formal political experience apart from staying informed about municipal politics wherever I’ve lived before. I’ve seen many communities mismanage taxpayer money efficiently; since choosing to reside in Oakville led me to research how funds could be better utilized here so I’ve decided to make an effort toward change.

If elected, what will your priorities be?

I believe “We are All in This together” – I want everyone involved to pay attention to how their community runs. Too many complain without trying to make changes or participating by attending meetings regularly. A key goal is trimming unnecessary budget items-there’s too much wasteful spending going on which doesn’t always mean cutting budgets but rather focusing on essential areas where funds go. Wouldn’t it be great if Ward 4 could lead Ontario with its first tax reduction?

Do you live in the ward? For nearly two decades now I’ve called Oakville home-I’ve spent all those years living right here within Ward Four! My roots run deep within this community.
