Authorities say they were alerted to a collision on Saturday afternoon that involved a transport truck and a passenger car.
Police indicate that an initial investigation showed the passenger vehicle had broken down in an active lane on the highway and was subsequently struck by a fuel tanker truck.
A 37-year-old man from Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported, according to police.
If anyone witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage, they’re urged to reach out to the OPP.
