If you’re a fan of Napa Cabernet, this is something you won’t want to miss. Chances to taste a wide selection of Napa wines don’t happen every day. But getting to try some of the most coveted and pricey wines from Napa is even less common.
That’s exactly what awaits you at the annual Taste of Oakville Grand Tasting. As someone in the media, I’ve been attending this event for years. It’s a special tasting organized by the Oakville Winegrowers Association that isn’t open to everyone, and it fills up quickly due to its popularity among industry professionals.
One reason so many people love this event is that it offers one of the few chances for many-even those in the wine trade-to sample the latest vintages from prestigious names like Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Futo, Harlan Estate, Opus One, Schrader, TOR, Peter Michael, Maybach, and more top-tier Napa Cabernets. While Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle might not be available during the public tasting, all those other great wineries will be there alongside many others.
The cost for tickets is just $250 each. And when I say just, I mean it; considering how much some of these wines go for, after trying around ten different selections, you’ll have easily gotten your money’s worth. Whether or not you choose to swallow is entirely up to you (but please don’t drink and drive).
This exciting event takes place on Sunday, June 14th at the newly renovated Robert Mondavi Winery. You’ll enjoy a walk-around tasting along with small bites as you savor some of the finest Cabernets-and other exceptional wines-from Napa Valley.
