Residents of Oakville will head to the polls on Oct. 26, 2026, to vote for the town’s next mayor and various municipal officials.

Advance voting will occur from Oct. 7 to Oct. 10 and again from Oct. 13 to Oct. 18 in Oakville.

You can find more details about voting in Oakville on the town’s website.

The current mayor of Oakville, Rob Burton, has not announced if he plans to run for re-election.

Nominations can be submitted or withdrawn until Aug. 21 at 2 p. m.

A list of candidates will be provided alphabetically by last name along with a short biography. This page will be updated frequently as the election progresses, and candidate lists for individual wards will follow the same format.

Mayoral Candidates in Oakville

Arvind Choudhary brings over three decades of experience in finance, public policy, and technology to his campaign. He has also been a member of the Ontario Real Estate Association since 2025. Choudhary aims to maintain Oakville’s “small-town feel,” enhance public safety, improve traffic infrastructure, and ensure thoughtful spending of taxpayer funds. Julia Hanna boasts over 30 years in the hospitality sector, having owned multiple restaurants in Oakville. She previously ran for mayor in 2022 and this time focuses on infrastructure improvements, tackling traffic concerns, ensuring public safety, housing issues, and more. Jeff Knoll has served as the Ward 5 councillor since his election in 2000. Currently holding positions as Chair of both the Halton Police Services Board and the Oakville Public Library Board, Knoll believes his experience with local issues like growth, taxes, roads, policing, and others will help him become mayor. Sean O’Meara has been representing Ward 1 since 2014. His campaign emphasizes moving Oakville “out of the middle lane” to catch up with neighboring areas. O’Meara’s platform includes economic development initiatives, preserving community character, improving transportation infrastructure, and other priorities. Here is Oakville’s ward map for the upcoming elections. (CHCH News)
