These picturesque settings lead to exciting outdoor activities, historical sites, and lively city experiences. Here are 20 enjoyable things to do this autumn in and around Halton Region.

If you’re looking to see beautiful fall foliage, red and sugar maple trees are your best bet, and Bronte Creek Provincial Park has plenty of them (plus it hosts a maple syrup festival in spring). Hike one of the five trails that highlight the park’s natural beauty. The historic Spruce Lane Farm House, surrounded by vibrant red and yellow leaves, is perfect for capturing fall photos. Don’t miss the annual Fall Harvest Festival happening in September.

Salmon Run

This October, watch salmon swim upstream in Bronte Creek (Bronte Creek Trail/Half Moon Valley Trail) as temperatures drop. You might spot Coho and Atlantic Salmon along with the more common Chinook Salmon.

Fall Colour Train Ride at Halton County Radial Railway

The train runs until the last Sunday in October-take a ride on vintage streetcars while enjoying a dazzling display of autumn colors along a scenic two-kilometer route.

Picking Apples at Chudleigh’s Entertainment Farm

This farm opened back in the late ’60s to give folks a taste of country life while picking apples each fall. It’s a great place to create happy memories and connect with nature.

A Spooktacular Halloween at Mountsberg

The Halloween Spooktacular offers an exciting adventure! Check out a haunted barn and take a lit Night Walk through the forest. Meet snakes and owls from Mountsberg while enjoying campfires; visit the farm animal barn and natural playground; plus join scavenger hunts for Halloween goodies! For extra fun (with an additional fee), you can add S’mores. You can also pre-register for a ghostly wagon ride through the woods; just keep in mind it’s not included with general admission.

Spend A Day At The Terra Cotta Conservation Area
