Ontario Woman Treated with Innovative Burn Therapy

Western University student Kaitlin Jeffrey, 18, of Toronto, became the first burn patient in the world to receive exosome treatment, according to Hamilton Health Sciences. The treatment uses tiny particles called exosomes that carry signals from one cell to another to help co-ordinate rapid healing and tissue repair and reduce inflammation. Health officials believe the treatment could eventually replace the current standard of skin grafting.
