A woman in her 80s has passed away after being hit by a falling tree branch in Mississauga, according to police.

Woman was rushed to the hospital but didn’t survive

A woman in her 80s has died after being struck by a tree branch in Mississauga, said police.

Officers were called around 2:30 p. m. on Friday near High Street E. and Lakeshore Road E. for medical assistance, according to an emailed statement from Peel police.

They found a woman who had been hit by a tree branch that fell because of strong winds.

She was later pronounced dead at the hospital, said police.
