Current Mayor Carolyn Parrish, on the right, and former Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie are the two most prominent candidates in the city’s 2026 mayoral election.
A recent poll indicates that the sitting mayor of Mississauga has a narrow lead over her predecessor in what is being called “a real two-way race” for the top elected role in Canada’s seventh-largest city.
As the 2026 Ontario municipal election campaign heats up with less than six weeks to go until ballots are cast on Oct. 26, Carolyn Parrish holds a five-point lead over Bonnie Crombie according to Pallas Data’s latest survey.
The Toronto-based company released their poll results on Monday, revealing that Parrish stands at 32 percent among decided and leaning voters in Mississauga while Crombie comes in at 27 percent.
Alvin Tedjo, councillor for Ward 2 in Mississauga, ranks third in the poll with 19 percent support while Dipika Damerla, who currently represents Ward 7, is fourth with backing from 12 percent of respondents. The option for “another candidate” received 10 percent of votes.
The margin of error for this poll is plus or minus 4.1 percentage points according to Pallas Data.
In total, there are 14 candidates running for mayor of Mississauga.
“Mississauga’s mayoral contest is shaping up to be a true two-way battle heading into fall campaigning, with incumbent Carolyn Parrish holding a slim advantage over Bonnie Crombie,” Pallas Data mentioned when sharing its poll findings.

“Parrish is ahead but Crombie remains very competitive here,” said Dr. Joseph Angolano, founder and CEO of Pallas Data. “A five-point lead with a third of voters undecided puts her in a good position but it’s definitely not unbreakable.” Diving deeper into demographics, the polling firm noted that Parrish’s current edge primarily comes from male voters and older individuals. Among those decided or leaning towards either candidate, she leads Crombie by a margin of 36 percent to 31 percent among men and has an even larger gap among voters aged 65 and older – leading by 38 percent to 28 percent. Crombie finds her strongest support among voters aged between 50 to 64 years old where she surpasses Parrish by a score of 36 percent to 32 percent. For women voters, it’s reported that Parrish receives support from about 28 percent while Crombie gets around24percent according to the firm’s analysis. Mississauga Ward2 Coun. Alvin Tedjo aims for the mayorship. Pallas Data also shared these insights from its latest survey: Damerla pulls her greatest backing from women (17 percent), which is more than double her standing among men. Tedjo’s support appears fairly evenly distributed across age groups but peaks at about23percentamong those aged35to49. Younger voters remain “the most divided group within the electorate.” For those aged18to34who have made their minds up or lean towards someone; Parrish leads with27percent, Crombiesitsat25percentand Tedjoiscurrentlyat19percent. “With five weeks still remaining in campaigning, the number of undecided voters will be crucial,” Pallas Data stated. “How this group decides could determine whether Parrish maintains her lead or if Crombie closes the gap.” The polling analysis was based on results from surveys conducted between Sept.9-11with576adultsaged18andolderlivingin Mississaugawhoareeligiblevotersonmunicipalelections. This survey employed automated telephone interviews via both landlines and cell phones.
