The Ministry of Labour is looking into a situation after a man lost his life at work in Markham.
York police haven’t shared any information about how the man got hurt, but they responded to reports of an injured person near Mc Cowan Road and Highway 7 on Thursday.
The man had serious injuries and was declared dead later, according to the Ministry of Labour. They weren’t able to give any more details.
Alectra Utilities mentioned that the outage happened due to a vehicle hitting equipment around 11:50 a. m., but York police stated that the outage wasn’t caused by this collision.
The incident led to a significant power outage affecting over 6,000 customers at its peak. Power was eventually restored shortly after 4 p. m.
