London police have announced that they’ve filed more charges as they look into the recent find of firearms and hazardous chemicals at a home in the northwest part of the city.

The London Police Service (LPS) stated on Tuesday that the chemicals were found in the University Heights area, located west of campus. This investigation started after a trespassing report was made at Western University over the weekend, which led officers to a residence at 212 Chesham Place.

On Thursday, police provided an update indicating that all four individuals involved have been charged with unlawful possession of explosives.

“Although we do not have an exact timeline at this stage, as the investigation progresses, residents can expect to see a police presence on Chesham Avenue for an extended period of time,” police said in a statement.

Jerry Tong, 27, from Ottawa was originally charged with six offenses, including carrying a concealed weapon, careless use of a firearm, possessing a loaded regulated firearm, resisting arrest, break and enter with intent, and occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.

He now faces extra charges for unlawful possession of explosives along with Zekun Wang, 26, from London. Wang was initially charged with break and enter with intent and occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.

Fei (Frank) Han, 25, also from London and Feiyang (Astrid) Ji, 21, from London each received charges for unlawful possession of explosives.

Han and Wang appeared in court via video link on Thursday morning. They have been remanded until bail court on Monday and Wednesday.

Neither police nor Western University would confirm if any of those charged are or were students. In their statement to , Western University mentioned they are cooperating closely with law enforcement during this investigation.
