A man from Kitchener is in trouble after a vehicle theft and trespassing event that took place in Woolwich Township.
Waterloo Regional Police got a call about an unwanted person in a parking lot near Fountain Street North and Airport Road on Friday just before 11 a. m.
The officers who arrived found a man inside a stolen car and arrested him. During the investigation, they discovered that the vehicle had been taken the previous evening from a dealership on King Street North in Waterloo during a fake test-drive.
As a result of their findings, a 36-year-old man from Kitchener now faces these charges:
Theft of motor vehicle; Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; Mischief – interfere with lawful use of property; and Enter when entry is prohibited
The suspect was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
