The inaugural YMCA Community Classic took place on Monday at Cataraqui Golf & Country Club in Kingston, bringing together 144 golfers for a day centered around golf, community spirit, and giving back. The funds raised will go towards providing financial help for YMCA memberships and programs, summer camp opportunities, youth recreation and leadership initiatives, as well as community services. One such program, Work Hard Eat Well, focuses on blending physical activity with healthy meals, cooking skills, and mentorship for local youth. Gord Sinclair and Paul Langlois from The Tragically Hip participated alongside golfers and community supporters at the event. Also present were Kingston Frontenacs general manager Kory Cooper, captain Vann Williamson, and alternate captain Andre Mondoux. The YMCA expressed gratitude to golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers with Cityflats recognized as the tournament’s title sponsor.
