A long-term closure is still in place on Burnt Hills Road in South Frontenac. Parks Canada has closed the Brass Point Bridge for repairs until Dec. 31, 2027. The bridge isn’t open to vehicles, but pedestrians can still access it with signed detours available.
Construction on highways continues to impact various provincial routes.
On Highway 15 north of Highway 401 in Kingston, single-lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals will last through Aug. 7 as work on the Canadian National Railway overhead structure continues. Drivers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes, along with reduced speed limits of 60 km/h and width restrictions.
Between Wyman Road and Shannonville Road on Highway 401, nightly single-lane closures and daytime shoulder closures are set to continue through Aug. 7 in both directions. Delays of up to 10 minutes are anticipated with reduced speed limits of 80 km/h.
Highway 33 between Bath and the Glenora Ferry will also have daily single-lane closures through Aug. 7, with delays of around 15 minutes expected.
Northbound Highway 37 between Lost Channel Road and Hunt Road is still restricted to a single alternating lane due to construction until Aug. 14.
In the City of Kingston, several overnight resurfacing projects are planned this week.
Princess Street at Bayridge Drive will be completely closed from midnight until 6 a. m. on Aug. 5 for resurfacing work.
Later that same evening, the intersection at Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard and King Street West will close from 7 p. m. until midnight for additional resurfacing efforts.
Princess Street at Andersen Drive will be fully closed from midnight until 6 a. m. on Aug. 6; afterward, there will be lane reductions on King Street West near George Street from the evening of Aug. 6 until morning on Aug. 7 while paving occurs near Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
Guthrie Drive between Virginia Street and Sutherland Drive will also see daily closures from 7 a. m. to 3 p. m. on Aug. 4 and Aug.5 due to new gas service installation.
Drivers should also anticipate delays on Taylor Kidd Boulevard near Blackburn Mews during paving operations scheduled for Aug.4.
Long-term municipal projects continue throughout the city including reconstruction of Princess Street between Frontenac and Division streets, ongoing utility work on King Street West between Country Club Drive and Front Road, along with road rehabilitation projects on Norman Rogers Drive, Cranbrook Street, South Bartlett Street, and Leroy Grant Drive.
Outside Kingston, various municipal construction efforts remain active as well.
Loyalist Township is undergoing major reconstruction work on Main Street in Odessa while Wing Road remains closed due to culvert replacement until early September.
Road reconstruction is also taking place along County Road 41 and County Road 5 in Lennox and Addington County; additionally along Road 38 and Round Lake Road in South Frontenac; Petworth Road in Stone Mills Township; as well as County Road 2 between Kingston and Gananoque in Leeds and Thousand Islands region.
Meanwhile, Ontario Provincial Police reported flooding Monday morning affecting Highway 7 between Highway 41 in Kaladar and Highway 37 near Actinolite; all lanes were shut down according to the latest updates available.
Looking ahead, the La Salle Causeway is set to close all vehicle access along with cyclists and pedestrians starting August 9 so that the marine navigation channel can temporarily open up.
Ontario street downtown Kingston will also be shut down from August 7-9 during the Kingston thousand Islands Poker Run event while Fairview road plans closure August eight due to Fairview road block party activities happening then.
