The name change took effect as of last Tuesday.
People planning outdoor projects are being reminded to ask for underground utility locates before they start digging, following the rebranding of Ontario One Call.
The organization is now called Ontario Dig Authority. This change took place last Tuesday.
This service coordinates requests with utility companies to make sure that underground infrastructure is marked before any excavation begins.
Whether you’re planting a tree, putting up a fence or deck, landscaping, or working on a bigger project, it’s necessary to request a locate before you dig. This service is free of charge, and requests should be made at least five business days ahead for single-address projects or ten business days for multi-address or large-scale projects.
You can request locates online at ontariodigauthority. ca or by calling 1-800-400-2255. The markings are there to protect workers and avoid damage to underground utilities.
