This funding is part of a $60-million plan to boost public health services.

The South East Public Health Unit will get $11,653,800 as part of a $60.09-million investment from the province aimed at enhancing public health initiatives across 29 Public Health Units in Ontario.

This announcement was made by Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, on behalf of Health Minister Sylvia Jones.

The funds will back efforts focused on improving community health, preventing diseases, and advancing public health programs.

This investment shows the provincial government’s dedication to ensuring that local health units are equipped to tackle emerging health issues and provide solid health services for residents.

Clark noted that this funding highlights the government’s commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of Ontarians.

Residents in the South East Public Health Unit area can expect improved programs and services in the upcoming months.
