Kingston is the second location for a provincewide trades career fair.
The Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fair arrives in the Limestone City today as part of its 12-city tour across the province this fall.
The Kingston event takes place on Sept. 29-30 at Slush Puppie Place and is designed for students, parents, and job seekers. It’s a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals, gain hands-on experience, and explore the wide range of possibilities within Ontario’s 140-plus recognized skilled trades.
“Whether you’re a student checking out career options, a parent wanting to learn more about apprenticeships, or an adult thinking about switching careers, Level Up! provides an engaging introduction to one of Ontario’s most vital and fulfilling sectors,” Candice White, CEO of Skilled Trades Ontario, stated in a release.
The fair features a public open house on Tuesday from 3 to 7:30 p. m., described as “a one-evening event welcoming students, families, job seekers and other community members to experience the career fair and interact with the exhibitors.
“Now more than ever, we need to give young people the chance to see where a career in the skilled trades can take them,” Trevor Jones, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, mentioned in the release. “Level Up! is helping students feel confident about pursuing rewarding careers that will shape their futures and help build Ontario for generations ahead.”
Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fair is organized by Skilled Trades Ontario with the goal of “providing a dynamic platform to learn about hands-on, high-demand skilled trades that play an essential role in Ontario’s economic growth and future workforce.”
According to Skilled Trades Ontario, over 140,000 individuals have participated in this fair during the last five years.
