The Kingston Police street crime unit, along with the emergency response unit, have carried out a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as part of an ongoing drug trafficking probe.

Police reported that the search warrant was executed at a residence near Leroy Grant Drive and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard on June 17. The following day, law enforcement searched the property, leading to the arrest of two individuals identified as key suspects in the investigation. Both were taken into custody without any issues and are currently held awaiting a bail hearing set for June 19.

During the search, officers discovered and seized amounts of fentanyl and carfentanil. Investigators found that the apartment was being used to process these extremely dangerous controlled substances for sale.

While officers were executing the warrant, a third man arrived at the home intending to buy drugs and was also arrested on site. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In addition to the illegal drugs, police found several alarming items inside the residence, such as a loaded crossbow, a concealed ballistic vest, and a firearm disguised as a credit card that can fire.22-caliber ammunition.

“This investigation demonstrates the value of coordinated policing and the exceptional work of our street crime unit and emergency response unit. I want to commend everyone involved for their professionalism, collaboration and unwavering commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of Kingston residents,” said Insp. Jeff Thompson.
