Justice Janet Robb is overseeing this inquiry at the Ontario Court of Justice located on Wellington Street in downtown Kingston.
This week, witnesses have testified including first responders who arrived at the Russell Street apartment building; police officers involved in both investigating and making initial arrests; officers who documented what happened at the scene; as well as expert witnesses related to this case.
On May 14, Dr. Alfredo Eugene Walker, a forensic pathologist with Eastern Ontario Regional Forensic Pathology Unit testified. He had been recognized by the court as an expert witness.
During Thursday’s session, evidence was presented about a post-mortem examination carried out following the death of an infant. However, a publication ban under section 539 of the Criminal Code prevents details about evidence shared during this preliminary inquiry until everything is resolved legally.
