UPDATE: A 14-year-old girl from Kingston, who went missing last weekend, has been found safe in the Greater Toronto Area, according to Kingston police on Friday. In a short update, they reported that Klaira was located by Peel Regional Police and her family has been informed.
A mother from Kingston is making a heartfelt plea for her daughter’s safe return after she was last seen on August 8.
As per a report from Kingston Police, Klaira is described as a 14-year-old girl with dark green hair, last spotted wearing a black hoodie and green sweatpants. She stands 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs around 100 pounds.
Her mother, Kassandra Williamson, stated that Klaira was last seen entering the YMCA on Wright Crescent around 1 p. m. after being dropped off. However, she suspects that her daughter didn’t stay there long.
“We dropped her off there, and she went inside, but we’re pretty sure she probably left,” said Williamson, expressing her deep concern for her daughter since then. “The police were going to check cameras and stuff, but we hadn’t heard anything in regards to that.”
Williamson thinks her daughter had been communicating with older boys aged around 17 or 18 and has a boyfriend named CJ or Conner. Before going missing, Klaira had a cell phone which was taken away due to worries about hanging out with older boys. After being dropped off at the YMCA, she was supposed to use their phone to call Williamson when she needed a ride home.
Williamson said she never received any message from Klaira so the next morning she reached out to Kingston Police.
“I know she’s a teenager, but still, it’s pretty scary,” admitted Williamson. “She’s had some mental health challenges in the last few months and has faced some issues with peers; so she hasn’t really been hanging around the usual kids from school. I’m not sure how she’s met these older kids.”

Williamson mentioned that she’s done everything possible including reaching out to her daughter’s friends and driving all over town searching for her. It’s been extremely stressful for her as she’s thought about worst-case scenarios.
“I know trafficking and things like that are also an issue in Kingston along with drugs; my mind has gone through everything,” Williamson shared.
Lately, Williamson noted that her daughter created a new Instagram account. To find out where Klaira was located, Williamson’s fiancé messaged her through this account. Although Klaira replied saying she was safe, she blocked them from contacting her further.
“It scares me that whoever she’s with might be telling her to block everyone,” said an anxious Williamson. “We love her and want her back home safe; we’re not mad at all-just very worried.”
The police released information stating that Klaira is known to frequent the Kingscourt area.
