Tim Hortons and its restaurant owners in Ontario are set to build or renovate 214 restaurants, which includes plans for one new location in Hamilton and renovations of six others this year.

This initiative is part of a national effort to invest $400 million aimed at enhancing guest experiences, supporting local communities, and providing steady employment for local and regional tradespeople throughout the province.

Restaurant owners across Canada are contributing $270 million collectively, while Tim Hortons corporate will add another $130 million. The goal is to build or update 480 restaurants nationwide.

In Ontario alone, there will be 26 new restaurant openings this year, along with renovations at 188 locations including Beamsville, Brantford, Burlington, Oakville, and Niagara Falls. This totals an investment of around $165 million into the local areas.

A press release indicates that Tim Hortons isn’t just a place for Canadians to grab their morning coffee; it’s also one of Canada’s key economic contributors. Owners take pride in giving back to their communities.

Tim Hortons states that materials used for renovations and construction come from Canadian-owned companies. Most products are made domestically; every piece of signage is designed, fabricated, and installed by local suppliers, with restaurant artwork created by Canadian artists as well.

“Tim Hortons was built in Canada by Canadians and we are proud to continue investing in Canada to give our guests beautiful, modern restaurants to enjoy,” Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons says. “These are Canadian families investing their own money in their own communities and that’s something we’re proud of.”
