The province’s police oversight agency has stepped in after a crash just outside of Guelph.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a vehicle in Guelph/Eramosa Township.
Reports indicate the driver didn’t stop, and police stated they chose not to pursue further.
A short time later, that same vehicle was discovered crashed with five people inside. There were no other vehicles involved.
All five individuals were taken to the hospital for evaluation, with three confirmed as injured.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is now handling the investigation.
