Celebrating Canada Day 2026 in Hamilton, Burlington, and Brantford

Canada will be celebrating its 159th birthday on July 1, 2026.

Here’s a look at some of the festivities planned in and around Hamilton this Wednesday.

Fireworks and Fun at Bayfront

The City of Hamilton is teaming up with music company Sonic Unyon to put on a Canada Day event from 3 p. m. to 10 p. m. at Bayfront Park this Wednesday.

Enjoy live performances by Texas King, Floating Mansions, Juliana Jones, and Emerson Arts. There will also be food trucks, a beer garden, a bouncy castle, and games. Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p. m.

Please note that the boat launch will be closed along with sections of the bicycle path and walking trail.

The parking lot at Bayfront can get crowded after the fireworks show. The city advises that parking space is limited and street parking requires a resident pass.

An HSR shuttle bus will run from downtown to the park starting at 3:30 p. m., departing from King Street and Summers Lane.

Personal fireworks or sparklers aren’t allowed at Bayfront.

Hamilton Fire reminded residents via social media on Saturday to enjoy the professional show rather than setting off their own fireworks at home.

In Hamilton, fireworks can only be set off between dusk and 11 p. m. You can find safety tips for fireworks and sparklers on the city website.

Canada Day Aboard a Battleship

The historic destroyer HMCS Haida will feature special events including rifle demonstrations and cannon firings throughout the day.

Admission is free from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m.

The Final Day of Festival Fun at Gage Park

The annual festival organized by the Hamilton Folk Arts Heritage Council wraps up Wednesday at Gage Park.

Your Festival began on June 27 showcasing various cultural organizations’ programming.

This Wednesday’s lineup includes a parade, Healthy Aboriginal Men’s Circle Drum performance, Philippine Islanders Cultural Association Dancers from Hamilton, Hamilton Sings Community Choir, and local rock band Stone Blind.

Hamilton Recreation Centres Closed but Pools Open

The city has announced that several administrative offices and services will be closed for Canada Day festivities.

Civic museums in Hamilton will not open but there’ll be a special Military Tattoo happening at Dundurn Park from 5 p. m. to 6:30 p. m.

<p Recreation centres are closed; however, outdoor pools remain open for use.

The Farmers’ Market in Hamilton won’t operate as well as library branches being closed for the day.

Buses will run on their Sunday schedule.

No waste collection services will take place.

Burlington Hosts Drone Show and Fireworks for Canada Day

Burlington is gearing up for an exciting day filled with activities starting with an early morning run beginning at Spencer Smith Park at 8:30 a. m.

You can also look forward to family-friendly activities including food stands featuring live music like pancake breakfasts, yoga sessions featuring Super Dogs shows followed by an impressive drone light display concluding with fireworks expected around 9:40 pm.

Citizens are encouraged to walk, bike or use public transit instead since driving downtown may lead delays. Burlington Transit buses ride free all day long operating under Saturday schedules while shuttles are available leaving Burlington GO station between noon until approximately 11:30 pm.

Lakeshore Road closes down entirely between Elizabeth Street through Maple Avenue starting after nine o’clock until eleven-thirty this evening.

A designated ride-share pick-up zone sits near two thousand eighty-four Old Lakeshore Road.

A Celebration in Brantford Ontario

This year’s celebration hosted by Brantford occurs over Lions Park grounds.

This event features live performances running twelve pm till ten pm presented by artists such as Steven Taetz, Ton Wilson, and Finger Eleven.

Additionally, you’ll find fun activities like photo booths, carnival rides, and pony rides alongside meeting Guinness World Record holder stilt walker Doug “The Great” Hunt between one thirty until three thirty PM.

A public citizenship ceremony starts promptly ten AM earlier held inside BGC Brantford.

Parker access remains available just off Gilkison Street priced nominally $10 per vehicle

Road closures commence around seven AM lasting through midnight affecting these streets: – Gilkison Street gets shut down between Mount Pleasant Road & Clench Avenue – Brooklyn Avenue goes dark stretching across Mt. Pleasant heading onto Delamere – Magee street faces closure spanning Milten crossing into both sides leading toward other streets – Milton itself begins clamping down intersecting adjacent areas leading into both sides too!
