Ontario Provincial Police report that a 34-year-old woman, who was initially arrested in May over theft and fraud claims at an Orillia hospital, is now facing 65 additional charges.
Authorities say they found more victims and carried out multiple search warrants, leading to the charging of Nassim Eronn from Burlington with 36 counts of fraud and 14 counts of theft, along with other related offences.
The accusations involve numerous incidents at hospitals throughout Ontario, including Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, Trillium Health Partners’ Mississauga hospital, and West Park Health Care Centre in Toronto.
Police released images showing piles of clothing and furniture collected during the investigation.
Eronn was first charged in May for violating a court order and providing false statements.
The OPP believe there could be more victims and are encouraging patients, visitors, and staff at those hospitals to review their bank statements for any unauthorized transactions.
