Halton police state that 73-year-old Sandor Somogyi was initially charged with first-degree murder when his wife’s body was discovered in a Burlington home on January 13, 2023.

According to them, a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in April this year.

Police mention that Somogyi faced sentencing today, where the judge decided he will not be eligible for parole for 13 and a half years.
