The victim has been named as Omer Niaz Muhammad.

Halton police media relations officer Jeff Dillon mentioned that this shooting in an “open parking lot” shows a “complete disregard for the safety of others, firing a handgun in an open space like that.”

Officers are currently searching for two suspects who escaped in a white SUV; however, no arrests have been made yet.
