A teenager from Brampton, who had been missing for over a year, has been found dead in Saskatchewan. The RCMP is now investigating the case as suspicious.

The remains of 16-year-old Jay’siiah Webb-Long were located on May 13 during what the Saskatchewan RCMP described as a “planned search” near Pelican Narrows, Sask.

Police confirmed that an autopsy took place on May 15.

Webb-Long last contacted family members in Ontario via social media on May 16, 2025, according to an earlier release from Saskatchewan RCMP issued in September 2025.

The RCMP noted that the teen originally from Brampton had been living in Pelican Narrows around the time he went missing.

The disappearance was initially handled as a missing persons case by Peel Regional Police before being taken over by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes in July 2025.

Authorities said residents in Pelican Narrows might see more police activity as the investigation is ongoing.

The RCMP hasn’t shared any details regarding Webb-Long’s cause of death and no arrests or charges have been made public yet.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the teen’s disappearance or death to reach out to Saskatchewan RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
