There’s a new Costco coming to southern Ontario!
A Reddit user shared a photo on Wednesday showing “Coming Soon” signs for the upcoming Caledon Costco, located at Creditview Road and Mayfield Road.
This past June, the Town of Caledon gave the green light to a development proposal for a Costco at 12100 Creditview Rd. This site sits at the northwest corner of Mayfield Road and Creditview Road, just north of Brampton’s border. The land used to be agricultural and included one home along with some outbuildings.
The proposal outlines plans for a 36-acre commercial space featuring a Costco warehouse and gas station as its main attraction. The developer also suggested adding 10 other commercial buildings. Besides the Costco, there will be plans for a grocery store, fast food restaurant, and various retail shops.
The design of the development aims to create “a sympathetic transition” to Home United Church nearby at 1500 Mayfield Rd. According to planning documents submitted to the Town of Caledon, the new buildings’ color scheme will match the character of the church.

A previous proposal was turned down by Caledon council in 2022 due to worries that local infrastructure wouldn’t handle such an extensive project. Since then, forecasts for growth in the area have risen, leading to additional planning efforts addressing service and transportation issues.

Although this project is based in Caledon, it’s expected that shoppers from all over-especially Brampton residents-will come here along with people from Halton Hills, Milton, and nearby communities.
At least one local is excited about this new development.

Would you support higher property taxes if the money went directly toward improving municipal services?
“Yeah, we definitely need another Costco in the Brampton/Caledon area,” one person mentioned on Reddit. “The one at Steeles and 410 is always packed, which makes it a pretty frustrating place to shop.”
The exact completion date or opening schedule isn’t known yet.
