There’s a new Costco coming to southern Ontario!
A Reddit user shared a photo on Wednesday showing “Coming Soon” signs for the upcoming Caledon Costco, located at Creditview Road and Mayfield Road.
This past June, the Town of Caledon gave the green light to a development proposal for a Costco at 12100 Creditview Rd. This site sits at the northwest corner of Mayfield Road and Creditview Road, just north of Brampton’s border. The land used to be agricultural and included one home along with some outbuildings.
The proposal outlines plans for a 36-acre commercial space featuring a Costco warehouse and gas station as its main attraction. The developer also suggested adding 10 other commercial buildings. Besides the Costco, there will be plans for a grocery store, fast food restaurant, and various retail shops.
The design of the development aims to create “a sympathetic transition” to Home United Church nearby at 1500 Mayfield Rd. According to planning documents submitted to the Town of Caledon, the new buildings’ color scheme will match the character of the church.
