In a major update, Peel Regional Police have reported the capture of Nakeem Jamar Johnson, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for attempted murder stemming from an incident that occurred on February 3, 2022, in Brampton, Ontario. This event took place near Queen Street East and Rutherford Road, where police discovered a male victim suffering from serious but non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. After an extensive investigation, Johnson was arrested on September 22, 2026, in Cross Lake, Manitoba, and has since been returned to Peel Region.

As part of the investigation process, authorities conducted search warrants on May 8, 2023. These actions resulted in the seizure of five firearms along with 10 kg of methamphetamine and significant amounts of fentanyl and cocaine. Johnson is now facing several charges including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, as well as multiple offenses related to firearms and drug trafficking. This case showcases the intricate nature of criminal investigations and the legal steps taken to hold suspects accountable. UL Lawyers Legal Team
