Community Alarmed After Gunfire in Brampton

Peel Regional Police (PRP) are looking into an incident where two homes and three vehicles were shot at in Brampton early Monday morning, causing concern among residents in the area.

Officers responded to the Spadina Road and Royal Orchard Drive region at approximately 2:41 a. m. When they arrived, they discovered signs of gunfire.

Authorities reported that at least one suspect escaped towards Bovaird Drive in a light-coloured four-door sedan.

No injuries have been reported.

“My neighbour’s house, two houses up, was also shot up. And the car over there,” said homeowner Robert Thomas, who invited City News cameras into his home to showcase the damage. “My wife, right now, if I call her, is probably in tears. She’s very emotional.”

Thomas told City News that a bullet went through his front door. He later found bullet holes scattered across his garage door and on a car parked in his driveway.

In an afternoon update, Peel Regional Police Const. Mandeep Khatra mentioned that there’s no known motive currently but believes it is an “isolated incident,” adding that as of now there are no apparent connections to the tow truck industry or extortion.

“There were multiple residences that were shot at,” Const. Khatra pointed out. “Two residences were shot at; At least three vehicles in the area were also shot at.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
