Authorities stated that several bystanders quickly provided first-aid to the motorcyclist, but the man from Barrie was declared dead at the scene.

Barrie police report that a 63-year-old motorcyclist tragically died in an accident on Big Bay Point Road last Friday.

Around 4:15 p. m. on June 19, officers arrived after receiving news of a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive, according to police.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and did not suffer serious injuries.

Authorities mentioned that multiple bystanders immediately rendered first-aid to the motorcyclist, but unfortunately, the Barrie man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from both the traffic unit and forensic identification unit are present, alongside front-line patrols, as they continue their investigation, police reported.

Police have closed off roads in the vicinity to facilitate their investigation and these closures will remain until everything is wrapped up.

If anyone witnessed the collision or has information related to it, police are urging them to reach out to the traffic unit at 705-725-7025, ext. 2995.
