Police are looking into the death of a 10-year-old child found inside a home in Barrie on Wednesday.
Officers reported that they conducted a wellness check around 3 p. m. at a house on Bayview Drive close to Little Avenue.
In a news release Thursday, police mentioned they also discovered the child’s mother in the residence. The 47-year-old woman was taken to hospital, according to police.
Investigators state there is no threat to public safety.
The major crime unit and forensic identification unit will be present at the location for the upcoming days, as stated by Barrie police in a news release Friday.
