With heavy hearts, the family of William C. Rice is saddened to share the news of his passing. Instead of focusing on his death, we want to honor his life. Dad and Grandad lived a fulfilling life, just shy of reaching his 100th birthday.
Born in England, he was a WWII R. A. F. combat veteran and the last remaining member of his flight squadron. Bill met his soulmate and best friend while training in Hamilton, Canada. After returning to England with his wife, W. A. A. C Ethel, they stayed there until the war ended before moving back to Canada to start a family: Charles, who sadly passed as an infant; William Jr., Stephen, and Caroline. The family expanded with daughter-in-law Rebecca; granddaughters Danielle and Lauren; grandchildren Jason, David, Jennifer, Matthew, Jaci, and Shane; along with great-grandchildren Kaleb and Jacob.
Dad was passionate about golf, volunteered with CASA, wrote books, traveled extensively, served as a scout master, got involved in the church community, and was both a mentor and father figure for all of us. His life lessons exemplify service and dedication to God, country, and family. His spirit will continue to inspire all of us.. thank you for everything Dad; thank you Grandad.
