The Sarnia Police Service (SPS) has taken two individuals into custody following a significant cocaine operation in the southern part of the city.
On Wednesday, June 3, around 4 p. m., members of the drug unit carried out a search warrant at a residence on Cromwell Street.
Authorities confiscated just over 1.8 kilograms of cocaine, along with $35,895 in Canadian cash and some digital scales.
Robert Knowles, 38, and Ashley Purdon, also 38, both from Sarnia, face charges together for possession of cocaine intended for trafficking and possession of property gained through crime valued over $5,000.
Knowles is being held for bail while Purdon has been released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date. According to police estimates, the street value of the seized cocaine is around $186,121 if sold at $100 per gram.
