One passenger was thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries before being taken to a regional trauma center.
Police indicated that while the driver did not have any major injuries, their blood alcohol concentration was found to be over three times the legal limit during the investigation.
As a result of this investigation, Paden Brewster, 24, from Gananoque has been charged with:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
These charges have yet to be proven in court.
The accused has been released from custody and is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on July 10, 2026. Their driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” police remind the public in the release. “If you witness dangerous or erratic driving behaviour, contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.”
