Late on a quiet Sunday night, a serious incident unfolded on Purcell Crescent in Vaughan. York Regional Police responded to a call at around 10 p. m., resulting in a man being seriously injured and transported to a trauma centre. Due to the nature of the injuries, Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has stepped in to conduct an investigation, which is standard procedure whenever police interactions result in serious injury or death. This has led to the closure of Purcell Crescent, with residents advised to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing.
