The yearly Paint Ontario Art Competition, Exhibition and Sale is still happening in Grand Bend.
It’s taking place at the Legion Hall on Municipal Drive until May 17.
This weekend, from noon to 4 p. m. on both Saturday and Sunday, there will be a ‘Skool of Rock!’ outdoor jam studio.
The Backroad Collective is running it, partnering with the Grand Bend Art Centre to provide summer camp and school year programs for kids and youth in the area.
Children are encouraged to come dressed in costumes, get their faces painted, receive temporary tattoos, and create their own band merchandise like buttons and posters.
Kristyn Watterworth and Ed Platero will also give talks about digital painting.
A few additional events have been scheduled for Sunday in celebration of Mother’s Day, including a magic show and a tattoo demonstration using practice skin.
Next weekend, from May 15 to 17, there will be events showcasing Mexican culture.
International students will demonstrate music, dance, and visual art in the main gallery and outside on the grounds.
You can view the calendar of events here.
The Grand Bend Art Centre organizes Paint Ontario each year as a registered not-for-profit community group. This event offers emerging artists a chance to display their work while giving buyers an incredible opportunity to see and purchase it.
