Two individuals are now hospitalized after a couple of serious motorcycle accidents in Waterloo Region.
The first incident took place just after 4 p. m. in Wilmot Township, where regional police arrived at the intersection of Bridge Street and Walker Road for a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
A 53-year-old motorcyclist from Embro suffered severe injuries and was transported to a hospital outside the region.
This intersection was closed for several hours but has since reopened, although the investigation continues.
Less than an hour later, OPP responded to another accident on Highway 7/8 near Courtland Avenue that also involved a motorcycle and an SUV.
It’s reported that the motorcyclist, riding a 2022 Brutale Sportsbike, crashed into the rear of a Mercedes SUV and sustained critical injuries.
In both accidents, only the motorcyclists were reported injured.
It’s still unclear if any charges will be filed as a result of these incidents.
