Ontario Tech in Oshawa is gearing up to have many more students living on-campus.
They’ve officially started construction on “The Ridge,” a new residence that will begin welcoming students in fall 2027.
The university states that this important addition highlights its ongoing growth and dedication to improving campus life.
Located just north of the Campus Ice Centre, it will be opened in phases. The first phase will provide 450 beds, with plans to eventually house 2,000 students.
“Ontario Tech continues to grow as a vibrant, student-centred university,” said Brad Mac Isaac, Vice-President, Administration, Ontario Tech University. “This new residence is a clear example of how we are building for the future. Through our forward-thinking approach, we’re ensuring our students have the resources they need to thrive, while contributing to solutions for the province’s housing challenges. We are proud of our partnership with Campus Suites and Woodbourne, and we can’t wait to welcome our expanding community of students to these modern residences in fall 2027.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate the signing for this project with Ontario Tech University, a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation,” said Josh Morton, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Campus Suites. “This project is an incredible opportunity to meet the growing demand for student housing while creating a community-focused environment that supports academic success and student well-being, further enhancing Ontario Tech’s offerings by proving best-in-class housing and amenities. We are a multi-generational business, which aligns with the long-term approach required by this relationship.”
