York Regional Police reports that James Bay OPP officers found and arrested a 19-year-old man from Mississauga in Moosonee on March 5.
A suspect who was at large has been apprehended in northern Ontario in connection with a homicide that took place in Vaughan back in January.
According to York Regional Police, officers responded to a commercial plaza near Winges Road and Rowntree Dairy roads after they received calls about shots fired on Monday, Jan. 26 around 1 p. m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man outside a business with several gunshot wounds. He was later declared dead at the hospital.
On March 5, due to the ongoing collaborative investigation, police announced that James Bay OPP officers located and arrested one of the suspects in Moosonee, situated over 1,000 kilometers north.
Jacob Wallace, 19, from Mississauga has been charged with first-degree murder and arson causing damage to property.
A Canada-wide warrant is still active for Isaiah Thomas Badger from Edmonton, Alta., who is also 19 years old.
Badger is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, citizens are advised not to approach him but to contact the police immediately.
He is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and arson causing damage to property.
The police are encouraging him to seek legal advice and turn himself in.
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
